Katie has proudly devoted most of her life to the performing arts. With decades of experience in theatre, dance and voice instruction, she is proud to be the new Studio Director/ Co-Owner of Dance Arts Studio Academy of Performing Arts where she has been teaching all of these disciplines for more than 10 years and most recently was the Assistant Director. Katie has been involved with over 30 musical theatre productions as director, performer, choreographer, producer and stage manager. Some of her favorite productions include Sound of Music as Maria, Aida as Amneris, RENT as Joanne, and Oliver! As Nancy, producing and performing in Broadway at its Best. She helped create and currently directs the continuously sold out Carteret Community Theatre Summer Camps which have been wildly popular to the local community. She also helped found the First Act Youth Theatre Program. Katie grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA but has called Carteret County home for the last 13 years. She studied tap, jazz, and ballet for 17 years plus master classes in voice, acting, dance and choreography. Katie studied Musical Theatre Education at East Carolina University and was formerly a certified Pre-K teacher. Katie lives locally with her husband Mike, their daughter Sophie and their fur family of pets.
