Kathy Crowe
Piano Instructor
Kathy Crowe holds a degree from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education. She has 12 years of piano training and four years of vocal training. Kathy has accrued over 40 years of teaching general and choral music in public and private schools. Presently, she is the music educator at St. Egbert where she has taught for the last 21 years.
Kathy serves on the North Carolina Arts Council Board of Directors, the Board of Directors for Carteret Community Theatre and the Board of Directors for The Early Learning Center. She has also served on the District and National Board of National Charity League, Inc.
She began her theatre fascination in high school with the role of Polly Brown (the girlfriend) in The Boyfriend. She continued this fascination with the Harnett Regional Theater in Bye, Bye Birdie (Mama Mae Peabody), The Apple Tree (Princess Barbara) and the role of Annie Oakley in Annie, Get Your Gun. She continued her theatrical journey in Carteret County as musical director of two children’s productions with the Sandcastle Players and several shows with the Carteret Community Theatre including Cinderella, Hello, Dolly (Irene Malloy) and Camelot (Nimueh). Kathy sings with the Carolina East Singers and has sung with Encore! and Carteret Chorale. She acknowledges applause is addictive!
Piano is one of Kathy’s favorite pastimes and she plays at least an hour nearly every day! She is excited to share her joy of piano, singing and music in general with the students at Dance Arts Studio.
When Kathy is not making music, she enjoys boating, deep sea fishing and traveling. Ask her about the one that got away!
